Plastic pollution is emerging as a top threat to ocean ecosystems. By 2025, there could be 1 ton of plastic for every 3 tons of fish in the ocean. Our oceans are dying. A small change makes a big difference. Find out how we are doing our part in ditching plastics!

1) 100% Biodegradable and Compostable Take-Out boxes

95 percent of our take-out boxes are plastic-free. In fact, most of our take-out boxes are 100% Biodegradable and Compostable! The take-out boxes we use in the store are BPi, the highest accreditation for compostable products, certified. By the end of this year, we can say with full confidence that we will be ONE HUNDRED percent plastic-free.

2) Bamboo Pulp Napkins

People have been making paper from bamboo for hundreds of years. In the 21st century, bamboo pulp napkins have been replaced by tree-paper napkins. Pin Xin, however, has been using tree-free napkins in order to save as many trees as possible.

3) Metal Straws

Who uses plastic straws nowadays?? Ever since our opening, we have ZERO records of purchasing plastic straws whatsoever. Plastic straws should be prohibited anyway!

4) Paper packaging + Recycle bag

Take-out food culture, as well as food delivery, has made our life convenient. We now have access to all different types of cuisines wherever we are located at. The downside, however, is that single-use plastics, such as plastic bags, consumption has also skyrocketed. Pin Xin, on the other hand, does not use plastic bags on our take-out nor delivery orders. Instead, we use paper bags for small-quantity orders and Pin Xin customized recycle bags for large-quantity orders.

5) Zero Waste Merchandise

Pin Xin offers a wide selection of zero-waste merchandise for purchase on offline stores. Bamboo toothbrushes, stainless steel straws, eco-friendly wheat cutlery travel set, cotton brush, collapsible silicone bottle, reusable silicone lids, net bags, handcrafted cold process vegan soaps, organic lip balms, etc.
